Cookie Policy
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies (such as browser localStorage) used on translationroad.com, pursuant to §25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, TDDDG) and the GDPR.
2. Strictly necessary (always active, no consent required)
| Name/type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Cart storage (tr_cart_v1, browser localStorage) | Remembers the packages and options in your cart between visits, so you don't lose your selection. Stored only on your device; not transmitted to us until you place an order. | Until you clear it or your browser storage is cleared |
Consent record (tr_consent_v1, browser localStorage) | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again every visit. | Until you change your preference or clear browser storage |
| Language preference | Remembers whether you're browsing the English or German version. | Session/until changed |
These are not tracking cookies, carry no advertising purpose, and do not require consent under §25(2) TDDDG because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested (the shopping cart).
3. Analytics (only after your consent)
| Name/type | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Understands how visitors use this site (pages viewed, general traffic patterns) in aggregate, to help us improve it. | Per Google's default GA4 retention settings | Google Ireland Limited |
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you actively click "Accept all" or otherwise opt in via our cookie banner or preferences panel. If you click "Reject non-essential" or take no action, the Google Analytics script is never loaded and no analytics data is collected. You can change your decision at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
4. How consent works on this site
- When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or open detailed preferences — all three options are equally prominent; there is no pre-ticked box and no option is visually favoured over another.
- Non-essential scripts (Google Analytics 4) do not load until you actively accept.
- Your choice is stored in your browser and applied automatically on future visits, until you change it.
- You can change your preference at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
5. Managing or withdrawing consent
Click "Cookie settings" in the footer at any time to reopen your preferences and change your choice. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser's own settings, which resets your consent record and shows the banner again on your next visit.
6. Third-party providers
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited. For details of Google's own data processing, see Google's privacy policy. No other third-party scripts (advertising pixels, chat widgets, embedded maps) are used on this site.
